Last month I was invited to a yacht club meeting in the Los Angeles area to hear a special speaker – Roy E. Disney – nephew of Walt Disney, and owner of Pyewacket – a race boat that has won him numerous trophies over the years.
The evening was too short, but extremely interesting! Roy had fantastic stories of his racing days, and of the people he sailed with, including his son.
Before he and his wife left, I was able to meet him, talk a little about sails, and get a photo with him… I’d say it’s a keeper already…
