I do NOT understand how someone who ADMITS doing something illegal – TO THE PRESS – ends up sleeping in his own bed.
We’ve all seen the TV news blips where local police departments "crack down" on the johns who hire the prostitutes on the street. Those poor guys get arrested, booked and their life gets just as screwed up as Spitzer’s life is – those regular guys just don’t get the media coverage. They still have to work through family issues. They have to deal with having a police record. They are embarrassed.
In this case with Spitzer, I’ve seen him on the TV news and being quoted in newspapers saying that he needs to focus on his family right now. I have not seen a SINGLE report of the local police department filing charges and ARRESTING him! I don’t care that he’s lost his job because of this. Plenty of the ‘regular johns’ who get arrested off the street lose their jobs too.
It’s pretty outrageous that this guy can commit a crime and get away with it. And even if they do file charges LATER, he needs to spend the night in jail NOW.
What is wrong with our government?! ARREST THIS GUY!
