I just saw a 2006 episode of "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery Channel which featured Upsala College… well… kind of. They were showing some of the salvage work being done before the college was demolished.
Upsala College was built in 1900. It was abandoned in 1995.
And now it’s gone.
I’m from California, and have no ties to New Jersey or the College, but after seeing the images of the College on TV, then looking at some of these photos on the web, it honestly broke my heart to see it’s demolition. (See a recent helicopter view of the demolition)
I’m incredibly sad to see what this beautiful College once was, and what has happened to it. And for what? New McMansions.
