My mom had this 45 record when I was a kid – it had a long chip on one edge, so you had to drop the needle in the first groove to play the record.
It was called “Santa and the Satellite” – it’s a novelty record, but just for the holidays.
The record disappeared long ago, and I called and stopped by dozens and dozens of record stores looking for the record. NO ONE had it, and no one had ever heard of it.
Well, a couple years ago, I found a compilation CD that had the track. I’m sure people 45 and older will get it much more than younger than that (though I’ve researched most of the references in the song.)
