Greetings from Marceline Mural Proposal

On the track-side of the old Dollar General building, behind the Community Center, would be a perfect place for a simple ‘word mural’ – “Greetings from Walt Disney’s Hometown – Marceline, MO”

This would be visible to the two Amtrak trains that pass be here every day, and would likely become one of those ‘photo postcard’ stops for visitors to town, where they stand in front of it and take a photo to post on social media – further sharing the idea for people to come visit Marceline.

Being on a ‘backside’ of a building that isn’t visible from anywhere except the tracks or parking lot, means it’s not in anyone’s way, visually. And, being such a simple mural, the cost of time and materials would be very small.

Prenger’s own the building, so people just need to talk to them about this idea as a way to promote more tourism in Marceline. The tourism committee has been working on the tourism website – www.VisitMarceline.com – and this would make a nice, simple addition to town.
